[RL with Xelloss, backdated to August 19th]

After his talk with Xelloss, he got in his big world-hopping bi-plane and started it up. He was glad he had expanded the plane when he finshed fixing it those months ago so that he can pick people up when he needed to.

After a moment, he starts taking off. "World-hop mode, engage."

He puts the destination information into the Miles Electric, which was now attached to the plane and then presses a button next to the computer. A laser shoots out and creates a portal. He flys it into the portal and comes out of it into Xelloss' world.

He looks down as he flys around in the sky, trying to find Xelloss. He hoped it wouldn't take too long to find him.

"You said you specialised in machinery," he mused, "Do you think you could show me what kind?

"I assume that--" He pointed down at where the plane presumably was. "--was one of them?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-11 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Well there are different kinds of machinery, but sure."

He nods. "Yes. It's one of many different types of airplanes, but I built this just for world-hopping."

Seeing those two icons together made me laugh. ... ... I shouldn't stay up late.

"Please do."

"Air plane...? It isn't very flat," he observes in apparent bemusement. "Wouldn't that hovering board fit the name better?"

Heh. =3

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-11 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
He shakes his head. "Airplanes were originally modeled after birds, so they aren't meant to be completely flat. Hoverboards are different as they originally started out as sort of a 'magic carpet' that the Babylonians invented thousands of years ago."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah...! The earthbound's fascination with flight." Humans particularly. Their attempts to attain the unobtainable never ceased to be amusing. Oh, they figured out how to cast spells that granted it for a while -- but someday even those might not satisfy them. "Funny how you should mention magic."

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Tails blinked in confusion as he wasn't quite sure what Xelloss was getting at. "What about magic that's so funny?"

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Well you see..." He hums for a few seconds, then scratches at his nose. "Nothing much, really." (Lies.) The priest attempts to subtly change the topic. "You called them Babylonians. Technology so old must be fascinating!"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"It can be for historical purposes. That's what he called themselves when they were still around. See, according to legend, the Babylonians were a group of thieves that suffered divine punishment for their sins, and their floating island was cast into the sea, and they became scattered throughout the world for all time."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Quite the story by the sounds of it. In your world thieves are Babylonians?"

He'll just have a poke around your humble little abode, Tails.

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah no, the Babylonians were thieves. Thieves these days can be from anywhere."

Tails would be fine with that.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Glitter," he murmurs, dusting it off so he can get a better look ... of whatever he's looking at. He recognises the board, of course, so that's where he's headed next. "So not all thieves have Babylonian blood?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not likely no. There is the Babylonian Rouges, but they are direct descendants and they do more than steal things."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Such as?" He briefly glances up. The board is fascinating, but something of more immediate interest catches his attention: Tails' computer. "Hm?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, they are-" he noticed this. "What about it?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"This is a laptop. It's a type of computer, which can process things faster than humans, as well as several other things if you have the program for it."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
It certainly bore a resemblance to Zelgadiss'. "Could it be made to trim hedges?" He had to ask.

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
He makes a small laugh. "Well, you could use a program to make it send a command remotely to a device that could trim hedges. But likely you could only make a simulation of hedges being trimmed, or simply a program to design homes."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"But ultimately hedges are being trimmed," he says. "Do you access the community with it?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
He nods. "I did use a different one when I went up to Eggman's space theme park a couple months ago, but usually I use that one."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Speaking of space, Mister Tails... Do you think you could take me there?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
This caught Tails by surprise. "Um well, the space elevator that Eggman build to reach up there, got destroyed, and I don't own a spaceship, nor do I have access to borrow one."

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's discouraging. His expression was either mildly annoyed, mildly disappointed, or both. But his voice is perfectly level. "You can't?"

[identity profile] twotailmechanic.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Tails shakes his head. "Sorry. I haven't had a need to learn to build a spaceship, plus spaceships aren't really available to the general public. The most I can do is show you some pictures taken from space." That and hack satellites, but he reserves that for saving-the-world business.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't fully understand," he admits, "but I suppose it was too much to hope for..." He pauses for a moment before turning back to the laptop. "Will you be using this again for the pictures?"
